The history of hot tubs

0

The story of hot tubs go all the way back to when the humans used the earth’s natural hot springs. These springs filled streams and natural small ponds which were used as natural health care and relaxation. The Egyptians had primitive hot tubs already before they built the pyramids and knew all about the health benefits.

The modern hot tub or jacuzzi as we say, was designed by the seven Jacuzzi brothers which came from southern Europe to western America in the early 1900s. The brothers constructed the first enclosed cabin airplane, but they are more famous for their hydrotherapy pump. A illness in the family started the idea to construct a hydrotherapy pump to cure his symptoms in 1956. The portable pump, also called the J-300 was sold to hospitals and colleges all over the USA. Not before around 1968, the spa which we know today was constructed. A close family member, Roy Jacuzzi, who had begun learning the business as a youngster saw the American people interest in health and leisure activities. The first ever built whirlpool bath was made in late 1960s with water jets built into the walls. It became the bath that made a revolution alone. In the 70′s the hot tubs became bigger and bigger, and could hold many people, the need for cleaning the water and reheating arose. The rest of the Jacuzzi family left the hot tub business or retired, except for Roy. Roy continued thinking out new ideas for the spas through the 1980s and 1990s.Jacuzzi are today the world’s most recognized selling brand of jetted/whirlpool baths and spas. But why did the jacuzzi became so incredible popular?

Hot tubs are used for health treatment and other things, and can do wonders on the tired muscles and regenerate energy to an exhausted person. Doctors recommend jacuzzi treatment for type II diabetes and high blood pressure patient. This is due to hot water in the tub is capable of dilating the blood vessels and do the job easier for the heart. Spas also decrease the level of sugar in the blood in the diabetic patients and can help people to lose weight and improve the sleeping pattern.
