Tips For Designing Your New Bathroom
Â
With property prices soaring accommodating growing families is getting harder. With conversions and extensions becoming more popular, utilising that extra space is essential. there are plenty of ways to make sure you get the best out of your new space and if you’re adding a bathroom here are a few tips.
Once you’ve got your new space you need to make sure you use it wisely. If you’re adding a skylight make it as big as possible. If you’re unable to add a large window or any window opt for spot lighting instead of one main build as this will create a even lighting. Every bathroom needs a mirror and the bigger the better. Backlit mirrors or illuminated bathroom mirrors will help create extra light as well as making the room look bigger.
A bathroom needs to be as functional as possible but this doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun with your bathroom accessories. You may not have the room for something as striking as a free standing bath but there are plenty of things your can do with a small space to make a huge statement. For baths that sit in the corner of the room try placing the taps in the middle and not the end. This will instantly give you more room in the bath as well as creating a more glamorous feel. A back to wall toilet will also add to the aesthetics as well as being perfect for a bathroom looking to save space. These toilets fit against a fake wall that that can provide more storage.
Keep the colour as natural as possible and try to avoid any complicated patterns. Small rooms will be made to look even smaller if you use detailed patterns. The same goes for darker colours too. White is normally the safest colour to stick with. If you want to add some colour and character to your bathroom chose some vibrant accessories. If you’re converting a loft of a room with short walls vertical stripes can make the room look taller.
