Using Pine Architrave
Pine Architrave is a great finishing piece. This material works well in any décor that you could ever want to have it in because it’s so versatile. It’s important to know where you plan to put the boards and how you are going to finish them so that you know what kind of board you will need to buy. You need to consider the quality of the pine you want. Simply put, the more expensive the pine board the less knots it will have. You may like the knots, but it really depends on where the material is going and how you will finish it when it comes to your final decision.
If you think you will choose to paint the Pine Architrave then you will want to think about buying pine boards that don’t have quite as many knots. You don’t have to buy the most expensive, no knot, boards either. When it comes to painting you don’t want boards that have deep, rough knots. The paint won’t go over these very well and the finished product would look bad. Painting wood that has knots still works as long as the knots are smooth and don’t show too much when the paint dries.
One of these three may be suitable: skirting board
MDF skirting board
Oak Skirting Board
If you decide to go with a stain then you have a lot more options when it comes to the board quality. If you like having the knots emphasized then you’ll accomplish that with staining the boards. If you don’t like the knots to be so obvious then you will want to purchase higher quality pine so that you don’t have a board that has lots of knots on it. If you don’t care about the knots in the wood then you don’t need to buy the real expensive pine. At the end of the day it is about the décor style you’re trying to achieve.
